The Cooling Towers Design - Netra Infra Tech Pvt. Ltd.

We all know that the cooling towers are extensively used as the air conditioning system for the industrial plants and manufacturing units. The cooling towers are a common feature for any industries or factories, but they are also one of the most essential parts of these industrial units.

Whether it is an industry or a hospital or a big multiplex, cooling towers are required to keep the air cool inside. The cooling towers remove waste heat from a particular place and fill it with cool and fresh air. This cooling component of the tower cools off the warm water that gets stored in the chiller condenser of the tower. If you take a close look at the positioning of the cooling towers, then you will notice that the cooling towers are always installed at the end of the heat transfer process, since the waste heat gets transferred in the atmosphere.

In general, the cooling towers are designed in two different ways. These are:
  • The Cross Flow Design
  • The Counter Flow Design

The Cross Flow Tower
The basic mechanism of the cross flow cooling towers is that the water must remain at a particular angle to the airflow so that it can function properly. Any cooling tower that uses the technology of cross flow has a box like structure and it can work by pumping the hot water along the top of the cooling tower. The hot water then gets distributed in the two different sides of cooling tower and then it gets dropped through the tiny holes. There are plastic intake louvers or fans fitted at the sides of the cooling towers which enable the hot water to expand and spread before dropping. Afterwards this air gets sucked in from the outside inside the cooling towers by the help of the many fans. When the air comes in contact with the falling water droplets, it gets cooled off and goes to the bottom of the cooling tower. The cooled water in then pumped out again from the chiller dispenser. The excess heat that remains in the chiller gets transferred to water. This is how the cycle keeps on repeating to cool off the hot air.

The Counter Flow Tower
The counter flow cooling tower functions quite different from the cross flow cooling towers. The air flow passage of this type of cooling tower located directly against the water flow. However, the counter flow also follows the same course of water flow as in the cross flow and water it spread out. But these types of towers are shaped like a funnel and they have only one fan fitted at the centre of the cooling tower. Below the fan there is a rotating water pipe for distribution. The water distribution pipe spreads out the water from a side and this helps in rotating the distributor. Because of the distributor the water gets dropped over the air inletting louvers and when the air gets in contact, it cools off.

Basics of Cooling Towers - All You Need To Know

Everybody probably have viewed quite a few long towers from where smokes continue coming out without even realizing what that is. They are actually industrial cooling towers which were many-a-times seen in several Nuclear Electricity Plants or any such factories etc, and can be seen as tall and stout grey constructions which make up power plant factory or such as mentioned.

Ongoing Projects of Netra Infra Tech

Moreover from being a representation of a colourful cartoon perspective, existent real life cooling towers are indispensable essentials of any sort of electricity plant stations, and are also widespread web site on a sum of other characteristics and structures. As being hinted by the name only the cooling towers are designed in such a way so as to utilize the process of getting rid of too much unnecessary and misused warmth or heat from factories and power plants such as an electrical power plant and force out the unnecessary heat into the atmosphere, as a result of keeping hold of the reactors of the power plants awesome and free from any risk.

Cooling tower manufacturers are stretched all over the world which is in accordance to the measurement of the requirements of cooling towers by the various industrial sectors all over the world for the purpose it serves, i.e. to control the temperature for superior yield.

The cooling towers actually attempt an excellent number of tactics and strategies, by the use of the evaporation process of the drinking water so as to get rid of system high temperature and calm down the undertaking working fluid with the lesser temperature of the wet-bulb, or correct the hotness.

This is a very useful process of cooling by counting on the air to amaze the working fluid for the dry-bulb temperature; it is, in fact, dependent contained by the category of cooling tower which is put into use. These cooling towers can vary in measurement. The responsibility is upon the magnitude of the setting up, altogether with the approach of the work to be carried out within them. They may be natural draft cooling tower, for example which works with the help of natural procedures.

Nevertheless, many towers are factually quite diminutive, and may also be referred to as roof-top models. But several others are extended to greatly outsize rectangular elements which will be beyond forty meters in height and eighty meters according to the length towards the amazingly huge, rounded constructions that possibly will be through hundred meters in height and a hundred meters in accordance to the width. In the point of fact, the biggest cooling tower in the world can be entitled with a breath-taking 200 meters in height to the Niederaussem Electricity Station in Germany.

There are in fact a huge number of differing categories of towers that can be found. And also there are types of towers that rely on the function it has got to make an effort to do and complete. As an example, the FRP Cooling Towers that are the category of the reliable cooling towers, which are resistant in extremeness of the natural environments.

Importance of the Industrial Cooling Towers

With the increase rate of population all over the world, there has been a huge rise in the rate of needs and requirement by the human world in every aspect. This has forced the industrial sector to manufacture more and more products each and everyday. This in turn led the production of loads of heat each and every day.

The excessive production procedure of the factories in the industrial sector keeps on the excessive out come of heat as by-product. This led to the cooling tower manufacturers to come into being. There are loads of ways to decrease the temperatures in the industrial sectors, but the most effective and cheaper way of resolving this problem is the installation of a cooling tower in the factories. These cooling towers are the pieces of equipments that are utilized for the heat elimination purposes. These devices basically extracts waste heat, produced as the by-products in the industrial segments, into the environment through the cooling of a stream of water to a lower temperature.

The industrial cooling towers are a very much new and important concept which is required in the factories especially in the factories which give up a very high rate of heat into the atmosphere, like the nuclear power plants, or chemical refineries, or petroleum refineries, etc. The most important use of huge, industrial cooling towers is to eliminate the heat or the high temperatures that are captivated in the circulating systems of the cooling water that are used.

The cooling towers apply the process of heat exchange with the help of machine builds which are specifically and efficiently relocate heat from one liquid to the other. Familiar kinds of heat exchanger comprise of parallel flow, counter flow, and cross flow.

There are a numerous number of cooling towers that can be seen installed in the different factories. But most common is the utilization or the installation of the natural draft cooling tower, because this type of cooling towers utilizes no power consumption in its processing, hence its name as it utilizes the natural flow and buoyancy of air. The other type of cooling towers in accordance to the mode of flow of air is the Mechanical draft cooling, which can be separated from the natural draft as the mechanical type consumes power so as to work. The mechanical type can be again classified into two types, such as the induced draft cooling towers and forced draft cooling towers, which are classified in accordance to the way of flow of air that are being forced and utilized in cooling towers.

There are even cooling towers that utilize a technique utilizing some of the method of the natural draft, such as the flow of air, mixed with only some course of action of the mechanical draft such as utilizing the power of the fans to force the air flow. There are numerous types cooling towers that are being produced all over the world, such as the FRP cooling towers, Timber cooling towers, Dry cooling towers, RCC cooling towers, Closed Circuit Cooling Towers, etc.
